Wow zero sympathy for the author. Amazed he still has his job. The ADF’s values are antithetical to those of any modern organization that values inclusivity at even the most basic level. The ADF actively fights to make gay marriage and civil unions illegal. They are overtly anti LGBTQ. Google on the other hand values inclusion and the rights of the LGBTQ community as a matter of policy. Corporations can discriminate against political ideologies for a good reason. Political ideologies are just a set of beliefs and principles that you choose as an individual. It is entirely possible and even common for someone to choose a bad set of beliefs and principles. Or a set that is antithetical to your organization’s. In that case you wouldn’t want them working for your organization. Your core beliefs and values are not aligned.
I’m not arguing that conservatives have no place at companies like Google. But conservatives with specific and overt ideologies (like anti LGBTQ ideologies) indeed have no place at companies like Google. Their values don’t align.
