Ask HN: Which is easier to do NLP with, Chinese or English?

I’m curious whether there is a significant difference between approaches for NLP in different languages. In some ways, generating “correct” Chinese text seems easier because the grammar seems less particular and more statistical, but parsing seems difficult due to the lack of “spaces” between words. Does Chinese require a different theoretical approach than English? What about other languages?
