Why use this service instead of finding a expat forum where past discussions are available and you ask new questions?

I think this should make the advantages more explicit. What's the catch?

I think that expats forums are great. However, if you're working somewhere and get a relocation offer somewhere else you would like to ask for advice in private. In addition, unlike forum where everyone join the conversation, someone will follow up with you and you can follow up, and develop a relationship with him or her as if they mentored you along the process. I know I didn't want anyone to know about my offer at the time.

If you want to collect personal data on upcoming new movers, at least pretend to care and provide a little information up front, a little SEO content, anything other than just a signup form.

Well, it's not a signup form. You ask for advice and someone will reply directly to your email address with some advice on the specific question.
