Fascinating to see all these S1’s visually
Yeah what happened to PayPal? What a crazy cap table.
Merger of 2 existing companies, both of which had undergone multiple pivots and brought their own VCs and angel investors to the table.
The "other shareholders" category is frustrating, because I'm pretty sure it contains some pretty large shareholders (presumably just below the threshold to be listed individually). Google lists Ram Shriram, but the other 3 initial angel investors (Andy Bechtolsteim, David Cheriton, and Jeff Bezos) don't appear, even though Andy & David were the ones who convinced Larry & Sergey that it could be a giant company instead of just a doctoral thesis. Stanford also owned over $1B in Google shares at IPO, but that's not reflected in the graph. Facebook had 5 founders; Zuckerburg and Dustin Moskovitz appear, Eduardo Saverin was diluted out, but what about the other 2? None of Tesla's actual founders appear; they're all just lumped in as "other shareholders".
Yeah unfortunately I looked at the source for each of these and the S-1's themselves don't detail those numbers. Maybe we'll never know...
