The first half is excellent and contains practical examples of why statism (all sorts of centralized planning) is always doomed to fail and helps understand why this site has many inane comments by supposedly educated folks. But in the second half of the article the author somehow concludes the opposite, that centralized planning by workers would work better than centralized planning by State (whether it's capitalist or socialist).
The only goal of optimization in a free market society is freedom for each individual, not profit. The idea is to create conditions under which everyone is free to execute their own personal goals, whatever they may be, as long as they do not violate another person's freedom. No other optimization is required, or moral.
