That's not strictly true; Saudi Arabia did not execute him (and does not, otherwise, execute) by crucifixion, it executed him and then crucified him. The Saudi use of crucifixion is a post-execution thing done for emphasis, not a manner of execution like the ancient Roman practice.
I really don't think dragon writer was saying it's okay. I appreciated the clarification since the statement "literally executed by crucifixion" is untrue.
