Ask HN: Is there a universal abstract template for academic conference apps?

I've submitted to present at many different conferences, typically in the biomechanics field, and it seems that each conference uses a distinct abstract template with distinct requirements. I've observed that a substantial amount of time is spent modifying the same content to comply with various word-limits, adding or removing figures, and changing the submission formatting. I was wondering if there was a reason for these template differences and if there had been any effort to create a universal conference abstract template to reduce the time reformatting.
