Equity Compensation agreement before option pool is created?

Ask HN: I was curious to know if there is a way to get in writing what my equity compensation would be prior to the option pool being created. I am a very early employee and the company has raised a pre-seed round but am being told that I'll have to wait until the seed round until the options agreement. The founders have given me a number albeit verbally. Any advice would be much appreciated.
