In the rush to be offended and angered by Trump many are blinding themselves to the problems and grievous oversteps of the previous administration.

What people really don't get is that the president is not the whole government and has far less power than people seem to assume. All this surveillance state stuff kicked into high gear after 9/11 and kept going through Bush, Obama, and now Trump.
