Dual Incorporation- Delaware C Corp and Canadian Corporation

I have a startup currently based out of Brooklyn, New York and is a Delaware C corporation. Given the abundance of government grants available to Canadian businesses by their government, I am thinking of incorporating in Canada as well.

I'm not sure about the legal, tax consequences and how to proceed with reorganizing a Delaware corporation to have a Canadian parent corporation.

Has anyone here started with a Delaware C corp and then incorporated in a canadian province?
