Err... Tsai is not in the 'nationalist' camp (KMT), she is from the DPP (Pan-Green coalition).

The rest of the article on Taiwan history is equally poor and confusing.

There are two ideas which seem to arise more frequently these days:

1) Having a separate extradition treaty with Taiwan, which breaks the One China policy and recognizes jurisdiction independent of the CCP;

2) Acceptance of the fact that Chinese people can indeed thrive without authoritarianism. Taiwan and Hong Kong are prosperous, stable, and free.

Could it be true that the CCP cannot any longer rely on its classic claims to legitimacy?
