Ask HN: Vi-Like Controls for Mobile

Does anyone here know of a control system for mobiles similar to Vi on desktops?

I'm aware that you can add vi controls to things in android, but as vi was designed for use with a real keyboard I've found myself wondering if anyone has done any innovation on input methods for mobile explicitly - one that acknowledges that actually you generally only use two thumbs and a smaller keyset
