Ask HN: Is it worth it to list your car on Getaround or Turo?

What I care about is the long term true of cost ownership. I don’t care about the short term benefits.

Things to account for that I can think of:

- taxes you pay on revenues from Turo / Getaround

- Mileage your car takes (which means you can sell it for less and you need to pay for maintenance)

- Fees these services take (~40%)

- Looks like the main factor for car depreciation is time and not mileage (which is in favor of those sharing services).
