Ask HN: How Do You Network?

While I was living in SF, I went to meetups fairly regularly and grabbed coffee with strangers to grow my network. Now that I'm living in a smaller town, with no real tech presence, I'm struggling to figure out how to grow my professional network. How do you grow your network outside of a tech hub?
