Ask HN: Recommend a good CPA/Tax Accountant?

Greetings, I'm in the bay area and am looking for somebody to help with my personal taxes (which are complex due to a corporate buyout earlier this year) and my company's taxes. What's more important (and relevant to HN) is, does it matter where my CPA is? I can't help but think I should be able to find a great CPA who lives somewhere with a much lower cost of living than San Francisco and find more reasonable rates?
