Ask HN: Iranian (By Passport) Co-Founder – Potential Issues?

I'm considering to start a company with an Iranian co-founder (he has an Iranian passport) and given all the media attention, sanctions, and recent GitHub blocking of Iranians, I am now concerned that it might cause issues with fundraising to have an Iranian person on the cap-table.

Does anyone have experience with a case like this?
