Ask HN: Kindle silly question: How good is it for tech books?

Silly question I know, but I have largely ignored the kindle (and ipad) rage until now. I like physical books, but I now feel like I am ready to approach the kindle. My big question is that I have a very large library of technical ebooks from Apress, Pragmatic Programmers, Sitepoint, etc. and I wondered if a.) they would be viewable on the kindle (perhaps after reformatting). Also since there are nice diagrams and images, do those come out neatly with the eInk screen?
