Ask HN: Do you think a Google subscription business model would work?
So this is in the context of privacy, data breaches, cookies and all that. Google relies heavily on ads, I presume much of their revenue is dependent on ads network.
To tackle privacy concerns and user data collection. If Google hypothetically considered to get rid of user data, they'd need another income source. Would a subscription be something you pay for? Sure, they wont customise search results, maybe at worst (?) you end up like DuckDuckGo.
