I would be very surprised if the US didn't engage in some strong arming under the tables to make this go away.

I agree, USA other than protecting its interests, thinks that all countries have the same attitude /laws. USA will charge you with murder for providing someone a car but thinks that top GS execs didn't know /approve deals for billions of dollars.

Yes? Isn't that what extradition is for?

It can't just be teenage hackers who are supposed to be extradited. International financial criminals should be held accountable to the same extent.

I mean you don't see Germany extrading Martin Winterkorn the former CEO of Volkswagen to US for the emissions fraud. Each country makes their own decisions. There are a whole bunch of financial criminals from India that seek refuge in UK and manage to stall extradition back to India forever.

Suppose HK and Singapore do not (probably it has to be illegal there too for extradition to succeed) extradite them. An Interpol alert will make sure they are stuck there--forever.

Yes that is true. Any time anytime crosses a border they are at risk if the other country has an extradition treaty.

No one was punished for the many Wells Fargo scandals except for the low level people who were fired as a sacrifice. No one will be punished for this.

This was in Patriot Act by Hasan Minhaj. Very good info and lots of jokes around the fact that Wolf was produced with the fund.

For an entertaining read on this whole ordeal, read the Billion Dollar Whale. I just finished it, it's quite a good read but eye opening the amount of corruption around the world.

I second this, read the book in a weekend. This guy financed the movie "The wolf of Wallstreet" while sugar coating Paris Hilton for every outrageous champagne party session he had. Jordan Belfort the main character played by DiCaprio ran out a party thrown by the main character of BDW in real life because of the obscene way cash was burned. Jordan Belfort could smell the corruption within an hour.

Also have to agree. I picked up the book based on the parent comment and read it in two days. Highly entertaining and informative. Just as Low absconds with seven figures of cash he does it again! Eye opening and worth the read.
