Discuss: Apparel Made by Carbon Sequestration
We are a deeptech startup, we have piloted and tested tech to harvest and capture carbon rich air pollution PM2.5 and turn it into high grade materials, AIR-INK (http://graviky.com). While our commercialization pipeline is pretty B2B oriented- and has long sales cycles, we've been getting a lot of consumer requests to sell Tshirts etc. printed with AIR-INK. Recently we received compliance to print on fabrics and other 'non-digital' mediums.
Very few people know that conventional black color comes from burning tradition fossil fuels, which has a direct carbon footprint.
Basically, if you use more than 50ML of the AIR-INK the whole energy calculations can make a tshirt production carbon negative.
We also have a strong community of niche artists, and backers, who early adopted us. check insta.
Would love to learn more because tshirt/merch selling, to us it seems to be such a crowded space, and we only make one color i.e. black
