Hard to say man - Xi can afford to play this out over another few months.

The CCP isn’t naive or stupid, nor are they impatient.

This kind of rhetoric is plainly opinionated and not balanced.

Of course HK will be done if China deploys troops. There's just a reasonably high chance that it will also be the undoing of the CCP.

China will be done only if the international community put their money where their mouths are. Trade sanctions to counter military action would have monumental impact on labor in China which could undermine the CCP.

But I don’t think the international community, i.e. globalists, have the stomach for that and will not meaningfully sanction trade. They may impose some token sanctions but that’s it. Because of that HK rather than China will be done if the CCP decide to go in and do their pacification thing.

At that point they’ll have to bring re-education camps to the south to tamp down on dissidents and lingering discontents

Much like Taiwan, PRC cannot simply smash the place up and say "obey us or else." That would hurt themselves in a very direct economic sense, as HK and TW both are important markets to the PRC. What we're seeing happening before our eyes is Tiananmen Square anno 2019: false flag violence from protestors, planted evidence, planted counter-protestors. The PRC is trying to sell the narrative that the protestors are wrong, it is the only way the protests will be quelled without literally killing them all.

China gets the biggest double standard from Western media. The restraint China has used during this time against Hong Kong is unlike anything the US uses against its own people. The yellow vest protest in France didn't last this long and people actually died during it.
