Ask HN: How is grooveshark built?

I plan to start my new project that is kinda similar to Grooveshark, I have the idea in my head but I don't know where to start. For example, what languages do they use? (Javascript/Php?) Is it possible for me to build it using rails? (I am more comfortable with Rails)? Help is very much appreciated.
