Ask HN: Accepting credit cards without JavaScript? Stripe.JS is slow

Has anyone dealt with using Stripe server-side and the PCI compliance? Is it really that burdensome?

My webapp does not use any javascript, but I want to accept credit card payments.

The Stripe client-side library takes a long time to load on many of my customers connections. On some mobile broadband connections, the credit card form takes 5-15 seconds to show up, while the page loads in ~500ms (good old SQL and HTML!).

What's my best option? Is level 3-4 PCI compliance really a big burden as everyone makes it out to be? I'm not storing any CC numbers after all.
