Ask HN: How to commercialize a product made w off-the-shelf components?

I built a small robot with a raspi and some other off the shelf components that solves a significant problem. I think lots of people would like to have one of these guys! So does anybody have any advice on how to take the next step and launch this as a business?

Can I just build them as I did my personal unit and sell them via Kickstarter? Is it legal to sell products powered by a raspi or arduino?

I assume there is a field of professionals who can take these components and build something more tailored to the specific job, and engineers who can take my code and get it running on said platform. Right? Or is this something that costs lots of $$$?

I dont have a huge budget to invest. I just found a simple but non-trivial solution to a problem and built it. So HN, what do?
