Ask HN: How to monetize troves of foot traffic for retailers and other co's?

If one had a way of collecting highly accurate foot traffic data for a representative set of national retailers or other large organizations (casinos or hotels for example), how would one monetize this? Theoretically it could act as a leading indicator of earnings I would guess. Are there any clearing houses or third-parties that specialize is taking and monetizing big, valuable data sets?
