TL:DR: Don't do crack cocaine, kids. Buried in the middle for some reason.
Really need a paywall disclaimer for all these links.

Are paywalls ok?

It's ok to post stories from sites with paywalls that have workarounds.

In comments, it's ok to ask how to read an article and to help other users do so. But please don't post complaints about paywalls. Those are off topic.

It’s getting where I can only read about half the articles posted to HN. Do we have a large user base of people that pay for NY Times, Bloomberg, etc.? Or just a bunch of people that use workarounds?
Agreed. How hard you it be to add a $ icon?

Or, better, require use of non-paywall links or to include the workaround.

This sounds like maybe one of the least surprising paths to homeless I’ve ever heard. Why devote a full story to it?

Would a restaurant trust somebody with a past criminal history of drug abuse and theft around $1000 bottles of wine? Does his skill set have any marketable value outside of the extremely niche market of a few major cities?

Great point. The market has decided we should dispose of this useless human
Ithink this deserves some kind of clickbait award. The title suggests the existence of an interesting story but the answer is the most cliche answer you could possibly imagine.
