Technically the resources are fully used, correctly, with no harm to the resource production, so it's more selfish.
The tragedy of the commons, society has less resources because of it.
It is an interesting point how people will think things become rights after receiving them for a certain period. In some ways they become rights, was it mentioned in the interview? so it's complicated.
Perception of (not actual) equity in the workplace is also a common problem.
I guess try and engineer the issue out is best.
Stop giving out free drinks and make it a tragedy of the commons issue, or create an app that restocks the fridge....
