Ask HN: Tips / features for surviving user content?
I'm building an application that would store user defined content. The platform is built around resiliency of content and cited papers/resources to help potentially controversial content remain available, distributed, etc.
While the software is self-hostable, I do plan on running a "node" publicly. However I am concerned about content moderation. Not just the tone and level of controversy, but most importantly content that may cross legal or moral boundaries. In short, I don't want to be housing a hate group or hosting kiddie porn.
What features of an application do you see as essential to manage user content? I want to ensure that my attempt to "do good" doesn't land me in legal or financial trouble.
Thank you.
