Ask HN: Is Hadoop Still a Viable Career Path for (Big) Data Engineering?

I am what you would call a Data Engineer and currently work mostly in the Hadoop ecosystem with spark. I feel like Hadoop is not aging well and even Spark is moving to Cloud-based environments like Databricks.

Is the hadoop path still a viable career choice today? And if not - what is a good field to transition in the next 3-5 years?
