You know what really makes no sense, the choice to use that font for the title of the article. I mean holy readability nightmare.
Tipping is a band aid for a problem no-one wants to fix.
We sure do like prices that are artificially low and defer externalities.

- Cost of employment removed from the price, added later as a tip

- Taxes not baked into prices, added at checkout

- Various service fees often added at the end

- Things like pollution and water use not accounted for

The problem with this is; all of the so called gig economy, and this, is that the people that's on the receiving end is not represented here. However, the people that benefits of all these draconian laws are well represented here. As a swede I remember my first visit to the States and how I thought, "They're so much nicer here". Oblivious to the conditions of the workers.
