It's amazing how superstitious and brutal humans can be. It reminds me not to take a naturalist approach to everything. Even in war very few people would be this brutal now, we have moved beyond what we were and I hope we can do it again.
You are mistaken if you think humans have changed or "evolved" that much in that short period of time.

Then you don't know war. Even the most "civilized" nation was mutilating their enemies.

You could even argue humans have gotten more superstitious and brutal. Would humans of the past dropped nukes on hundreds of thousands of innocent men, women and children of their enemies rather than sparing most while killing a few? Or maybe "man is the cruelest animal".

I didn't say we are not brutal, just not that brutal. Child helmet skulls on child skulls > just skulls.

While I appreciate your sentiments I can’t help but feel that you are quite incorrect.

ISIS? Burning people in cages for propaganda? Mass rapes and executions? That’s all happening in today’s age.

The whole world does not grow at the same rate. Some places still live in the dark ages.
China is harvesting organs from prisoners, so I don’t think we’ve evolved all that much.
That is pretty awful, I did know that one but conveniently forgot about it. I suppose I'll go back to having a lack of faith in humanity again.
Ah, the origin of the Cubone peoples are about to be revealed!
