Developers: Have you been laid off a bunch? Does it wreck your hiring process?

It could be lack of funding, restructuring, company purchase, or just 4th quarter numbers. Does any other developer here experience a problem with their resume in regards to having several layoffs? That is, are you being framed as flippant, non-reliable, or just "bad news"?
