Scalable, and automated SEO processes and systems

I really found what this guy did http://seohimanshu.com/2011/01/12/enterprise-level-competitive-keyword-research/ on his blog interesting.

He took 3 different tools and created a system to research keywords. Xenu Sleuth, Google Adwords, and WordTracker Keyword Grouper.

Anyone hear or know of any other techniques like this?
