Ask HN: Why Hackernoon stats take too long to load?

If you're a hackernoon writer, you might have noticed this. When you open the stats page (where it displays the number of stories, view count, etc, it says "Computing your stats...this may take up to 42 seconds.".

Is it really difficult to optimize that query? :-?
