Ask HN: Is React Native tooling this unstable for anyone else?

I’ve had a variety of issues with code not executing as expected while developing with React Native the past few months. Sometimes directly related to hot reloading but a lot of times killing everything and restarting isn’t enough either and I still get code deployed either to the simulator or a device that isn’t consistent with what I’ve saved on the filesystem. Then there’s relatively frequent debugger/package server crashes on top of that. Because these issues tend to pop up randomly, but on an almost daily basis, I can never be sure if unexpected behavior I’m seeing is actually due to a problem in my code or some bad state with the tooling. Is this a common issue with other devs? I’m sort of surprised at what feels like an overall lack of quality that I hadn’t heard complaints about before trying it myself.
