Ask HN: Can't humans extinguish the fires in Australia?

It amazes me how we as humans can't still in this day and age extinguish fires like the ones happening in Australia.

Can't people think of creative solutions?

Would love to hear any ideas (regardless of how crazy they might appear) on how we can possibly extinguish such fires!
