this dude (burtonator) has been hawking this weird service for years on hn. I don't understand why his (and other tbh) content marketing makes it to the front page.
I think the point really is he's writing his thoughts in the margins, that are relevant to the book. The book can be sat with offline and relaxing in a library away from technology. The point isn't that the margin notes need to be digitised and searchable - they already are searchable - just pick up the book!
