I was one of the few thousands who starred that issue and had some 36 emails over the last 20 hours. It's been a curious nugget of the social internet.
Back in 2008 someone filed an issue titled "I hope Android will implement and support the USB host feature", a feature that has now long since been implemented.
Until the issue came back to life yesterday, the last comment was from January 2014. As of now there's 40 or so new comments; quite a few are responses to one person asking "So what did everybody accomplish in these 12 years? Graduate school? Get married? Buy a house? Had kids?".
