Ask HN: Cognitive Offload Tools?
During the infamous Elon Musk interview on the Joe Rogan podcast, something Elon said stuck with me and I think about it often. He said something like 'The next hurdle in computing is overcoming the restrictive bandwidth limitations of viewing a computer with your eyes and instructing it with your hands.' His point was the next generation of super-humans will have a cpu brain implant and those super-humans will view the rest of us as we currently view animals (regarding intelligence).
We don't have computers implanted in our brains so here's my question: What's the next best thing? I could I offload even more of my personal responsibilities directly to a computer and how could we increase the bandwidth between our personal worlds and a computer?
One answer that came to mind is this: Live by a set of self imposed rules that I (personally) will not be trusted make certain decisions anymore and I will fully trust a networked computer for those decisions. I'm not sure if that is the best policy to live by, but it begins to answer the above question.
