I don't understand the repeated "white guy" emphasis here. What is it supposed to convey? Would things be different if they were black or something? Or if they were female?
The problem of Agile is that it goes against the established power structure in the corporate world. In many organisations the result has been to apply Agile buzzwords while, by and large, maintaining the status quo.
Agile methodologies make a lot of sense in many cases. Anyone who has worked in a good old waterfall/V cycle style immediately understands what those "middle-aged, white guys" (appalling to read that, btw) were coming from.
They are not a panacea, though, and do not really fit certain types of projects. In any case they must be understood in depth to reap any benefits.
I don't understand the whole 'woke' angle of this article, though, it is dangerously close to racism/ageism/sexism. It's disgraceful, frankly.
