Ask HN: Is Apple Pay secure post-password?

It strikes me as odd that Apple Pay has no confirmation prompt. Once I input my pass-code, my wallet immediately processes the nearest transaction without confirmation. Anybody within NFC range could generate a transaction that my device would complete.

Sure, if this happens you can contact Apple, who will pass this off to GS's fraud department to remedy, but this feels like a blatant oversight that will create many needless headaches. No?
