Ask HN: Best way to report an outage to AT&T?

My whole neighborhoods AT&T fiber is down and I can't get their customer support to listen.

When we call, we each get a different response. One neighbor is getting a new modem mailed to them. I'm having technician sent out to check my lines(in 3 days). How they didn't piece together 4-5 calls from the same street as a larger problem is beyond me.

It appears to be a DNS issue of some kind. If I use Google or Cloudflare, about half the internet works. If I use the default AT&T DNS, nothing. As if the internet is down.

Has anyone had experience with anything like this? Or do I just need to keep having everyone in my neighborhood call in until it clicks?

It's been down for about two days now.

Fiber down is a lot different than DNS issue.
well, as far as my neighborhood is concerned, their fiber is down.

But on fiber, if I set my wifi to use a different DNS, half the internet works. Namely Google/Gmail. Most websites are still down.
