Ask HN: Tips when starting a new job on a new tech stack

I am making a transition to a new role which employs all the tech stack which I haven't worked on before. I want to have a deep dive in it over the coming months. What are your suggestions on making personal notes/documentation also the methods employed to pick up the new stack quickly and efficiently.
