We have had detailed investigations from virologists on here suggesting it is likely not synthetic. This is quite the reversal. But this guy is just a public health researcher, which is a different set of skills. He also lives in Taiwan, where hating on mainland China is understandably a bit of a national pastime. I would wait to see if anyone else who is serious puts their weight behind this hypothesis.
