Ask HN: Pros and Cons of going remote first on a startup?
Hi there. I was wondering if I could get some of the community's thoughts on the benefits and costs of going remote first on a new startup. I am starting a venture with 3 other people. One of us is a city away while the others could work out of the same office . We are considering going fully remote since we already have one remote guy and we believe it might one day become a competitive advantage to be able to recruit from anywhere. Having said we do not have a lot of experience with remote work and we are concerned about the possible loss of internal bandwidth and cohesion that might come from going remote only. What experiences have folks had with going fully remote in an early stage startup?
