For a moment I was wondering that the Irish Republican Army was doing in Ghana ! It should say RIRA not IRA
And I was thinking about the retirement account ;)
Why not just have the acronym in full: 'Russian Internet Research Agency' to reduce ambiguity? Since us British folk know the historical associations of both RIRA and The IRA.

But yes, at first the title did look like that the IRA somehow expanded to Ghana. Which would be completely bizarre of them.

RIRA can also refer to Real IRA, but is much less likely to lead to confusion with the actual IRA.
Haha I was thinking the exact same!
And then when it mentioned using social media for political influence I was thinking a-ha! Sinn Fein bots!
I don't what is worse, the Russophobia, the bad choice of acronym (Irish Republican Army is what most poeple attribute to IRA), or the flat out ignorance to other countries doing the same operations (Israeli groups, British groups -remember a company called Cambridge Analytica).
I don't think reporting that the Russian government is sowing social discord is "Russophobia". The rest of your comment amounts to whataboutism.
Find those British and Israeli groups and publish a report about them. As for Cambridge Anal: it went down quite spectacularly, so in as far as you’re complaining about unequal treatment, I can’t quite follow.

(And, by the way, it’s the Russians that called it the “Internet Research Agency”)
