Ask HN: Who is compiling a detailed open dataset on the pandemic?

Two weeks ago there was no central repository for accurate data on the pandemic that is more detailed than the Johns Hopkins dataset. Lots of researcher time was being squandered scraping by hand from a hundred national websites.

Is this still the case? If so, who is working on fixing it? This seems like unusually impactful work that can be done remotely.

Update with most comprehensive datasets I know about:

European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control https://www.ecdc.europa.eu/en/geographical-distribution-2019-ncov-cases

Johns Hopkins University Center for Systems Science and Engineering (JHU CSSE) https://github.com/CSSEGISandData/COVID-19

According to OurWorldInData (two days ago), the only other global dataset available is from the WHO, but it has significant bugs. They offer a combined form of the Hopkins and European CDC data. https://ourworldindata.org/covid-sources-comparison
