Most of those are videos explaining why free energy is nonsense, which is exactly as it should be.
Unfortunately if such things are banned, even a video discussing it is impacted. Youtube often takes down videos when they are discussing wrongdoing simply because wrongdoing is bad so any mention is automatically bad. Then there is a fight to get it restored.
"free energy" is a scientific term too. Look up gibbs free energy
Not just free energy but also the fake DIY/crafts.

The reason they don’t get banned though is because these videos produce ad revenue so both Google and the video creator benefit from them, at the expense of viewers who waste their time (and potentially money) watching them or attempting to recreate them.

In a world where ads don’t exist these kinds of videos wouldn’t be viable as nobody would pay for them, and the ones who would will then ask for their money back when they realise the free energy generator doesn’t actually produce free energy.

This is yet another example of why advertising is a cancer for society.

You'd have a point, if Google had a policy of banning videos that didn't generate ad revenue. As it is, these videos would exist and be available regardless.

We should also ban videos that claim the earth rotates around the sun
I claim discrimination ! Why not include banning all the "flat earth" vids ? (Are there any ?)

My favorites are the "silent" magnetic apparatus vids where the creator is rather obviously using an air nozzle to achieve rotation . . . .
