The world is a vast meaningless cruel existence that cares nothing about your accomplishments, trials, laments and accomplishments. The important thing is to set an endless string of arbitrary goals to distract yourself until you die.

That’s a great summary of what life is about in the first world. If you think that’s depressing, you’re taking it to literally.

I mostly agree, but we really have no way of telling if its meaningless or not.
That's a rather negative take. There are more upbeat ways to view it also.
The simplest way to achieve happines is: have a half of your brain surgically removed. The stupider you are, the happier you become, because happiness is basically the ability to ignore reality.
