Why do we still keep cats? Dogs seem so much more useful.

Because people love cats? Not everything has to be useful. I love my cat and am keeping him.

Cats kill much more than mice and are actually a scourge on the environment with the amount of species the kill. Australia has the right idea on culling them.

Ummmm yeah, dogs sniffing stuff out is about as scientific as polygraph: it only provides probable cause.
